Family Vacation Session is actually a satire or a joke based on the overvaluation of photography in the Art Market. I am not a photographer, though I learnt certain techniques when I was living abroad, at the Berkeley Art Center (at UC Berkeley), where photography classes were offered to the students. I have a series from that time (2002) which is still in negatives, because we were encouraged to use traditional cameras to learn the manual photography techniques, instead of digital cameras, so ubiquitous nowadays. The pictures of the Family Vacation Series, were taken when I was spending time with my family… but somehow my attention was caught by my legs, sunglasses and hats… a very funny way to enjoy vacation and accessories. This is my Dadaistic vision of photography… nothing to be malformed in approval? Who knows?
